Makeover on a Monday

This past week we spent time with family a friends at the beach. It was amazing and so much fun. Little Man HATED the beach, but that is another post.... Today I want to introduce you to my beautiful friend Emily, who was kind enough to let me do her make-up. Now, Emily is great at doing her own make-up, she just let me experiment on her because she is so kind.

We started with a freshly cleaned face right out of the shower.

She is such an easy canvas.... I started with her face makeup. I used a non-sparkly bronzer and a very light concealer to highlight and contour her face. This is where I added the highlights and lowlights.

Use bronzer anywhere you want to add a shadow, like under your chin, and under your cheek bones. I also use this at the hairline to help add warmth to your face. Use the highlighter anywhere that you want to come forward, like the apples of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose and chin.

Now, the secret to this kind of makeup is BLEND!

You should have a makeup brush that is for blending only, and clean it often. The more you blend the more natural the make-up will look.

We then added eye make-up.

1. I used a light brown/nude color all over the eyelid first.
2. I added the darkest color brown in a "C" shape following the crease of the eye and the eyelid.
3. Start adding highlighter in a light sparkly shade at the eye brow and on the lid where the iris would be.
(BLEND!!)
4. Add eyeliner in black... Black always gives a finished look to any eye makeup.
5. Add Mascara. (I always use black)

This is a very basic smoky eye look. The more you blend and pull the brown out of the crease, to smokier it will look.

I was blessed to have such a beautiful model to work with!

This style of makeup doesn't take long once you get the hang of it..... And it really makes a difference in how I feel when I spend time on my face!

Thanks Emily!

Have a GREAT day y'all!
