My plan today was to make a tutorial on covering a simple composition notebook with fabric. I wanted it to be a simple tutorial.... Ooops!
This turned out to be way more complicated than I thought and I am just not a complicated person, expecially when it come to sewing.
So.... Did I make it? Yup...
Do I like it? Yup, actually love it...
Will you get a tutorial? Maybe....
HA!
I started by outlining the notebook with chalk on the fabric. I added a triangle flap to the right side of the cover that would wrap around the notebook.
I used the faux leather cord in two ways...
1. I used them as ties on the front of the cover
2. I used them to hold the cover on the back page by placing two cords on the back flap.
I sewed the whole thing with right sides together. Turned it inside out, and folded the extra over to make a pocket.
It sounds a lot more simple than it really was.... I hate complicated sewing.... So, I'm not gonna burden y'all with it.
Just know that it's pretty and functional. I may try to make another one and give you a better tutorial. But, for now... Here it is!
I love that this thing can be used over and over again when the composition notebook gets full. It's also easy to put a pen inside the notebook or clip it to the ties on the front.
I am going to be taking this with me when my Mom and I go look at fabric for Baby Girl's room soon....
Sorry this wasn't beter!
I'll try harder tomorrow!
Y'all have a GREAT day!
